Winter is not far away which means that a new collection of fashion must-haves is about to hit our high streets. Awesome! But you cannot complete a look without the much needed accessories to go with it, so here we will discover what kind of jewellery is expected to be ‘top of the trend’ this winter!
Bold, but certainly not brave!
This winter you can expect to see a bit of, actually quite a lot of punk rock and oversized pieces! It’s about Big and Bold accessories. The Biggest, the Brightest, the brassiest and the chunkiest of neck and wrist wear oh… and a little bit of ear wear thrown into the mix too! But do not be afraid by this oversized overstated style since it’s actually rather cool. It can dress up even the most boring of outfits and help to create a real rock chick vibe in your day or evening style and, best of all, any age can wear it!
Now before you go raiding your mom’s collection of 80’s over the top brightly coloured plastics let me remind you that this season we are talking mainly gold. Not real gold though, phew! We are talking brassy imitation gold. Think sophisticated Chav! Confused? Well, let me explain;
Remember the good old chavvy looking link chain? Well I’m afraid its back! Now, take your pick because this season anything that displays bold brassy links whether it be a necklace, Choker , bracelet or something attached to your clothing or your handbag then you’re on form! I know what you may be thinking, but seriously if it’s good enough for Chanel at ‘Paris Fashion Week’ then it’s good enough for us! Go get em’ with your ball and chain!

My 10 wardrobe essentials for Autumn 2013
The longer days we’ve been enjoying will soon be growing shorter once again as autumn sets in. It’s a beautiful season full of warm colours and cosy evenings. With the change of season the temperature can certainly be a little less forgiving and it’s time to think about a change of wardrobe. There are some key pieces that are perfect for unpredictable autumn weather. These ten essentials will take you effortlessly through to winter.
With autumn comes chillier evenings if not slightly chillier days. While there’s no need to get out the big winter coat just yet, you will certainly be grateful of a versatile knit or two.
Let’s face it, there isn’t a season in the year in this country when rain isn’t a possibility. In autumn we can certainly expect a shower every so often so a lightweight waterproof is essential if you’re to avoid looking like a drowned rat. No need to grab the dull winter colours though. A gentler coloured parka such as the Bonmarché Metallic Lightweight Parka will keep that summery spring in your step.
Now a great pair of jeans is an essential for any wardrobe Dress them up or down and they can look great provided you choose the right style for your body type. On the whole it’s hard to go wrong with a pair of dark indigo boot cut jeans and they come into their own in autumn. When you’ve ditched the shorts and floaty skirts, your jeans will serve you well in this in between season.
Who can have too many jersey tops? In autumn layer them up for a warmer, on trend look. Go for a short sleeve over long or even two long sleeved garments together and, as long as you have a contrast of colours, your look will be effortlessly casual.
The gorgeous floaty blouses that have been just that bit too warm for summer can come to fore in autumn. Wear them with jeans or smart trousers for a great work or evening look.
Maxi dresses are just as at home in autumn as in summer. Jersey maxis, such as the Crochet Trim Printed Maxi Dress by Bonmarché, in particular make a great choice for autumn that will work well with a lightweight cardigan or shrug. They’re practical and feminine as well as being utterly easy to wear. What’s not to love about maxis?
The crop has been high on the fashion agenda this summer and in autumn the sophisticated Capri trousers are a perfect choice to continue the look. Capris offer a smart and easy to wear alternative to your typical work trousers. Capris show off great ankles and look flattering even with flat shoes, though they look really chic with kitten heels too.
Lovely as they are to wear, summer sandals are one of the first things to get packed away with the change of season. While most of us are not ready in autumn to pull out the knee high boots and lace ups, ballerina style pumps are the perfect solution. They are effortlessly chic and, even better, they’re comfortable.
To keep a sense of summer in your look for longer a pretty summery scarf is a great way to go. They’re low cost and add an easy touch of print to any outfit so there’s no reason to stick to just one in your wardrobe.
Okay no one else is going to see these but autumn is the perfect excuse to start getting just that little bit more snuggly at night. When the day light has faded, draw the curtains and get cosy in jersey pyjamas – they are one thing to celebrate about the end of summer.

It seems like summer might just be finally here, and with a warmth in the air and the odd day of summer sun on our skin, it’s time to turn our attention to our summer wardrobes. Brush the cobwebs out of your closet and get some summer style with this season’s hottest fashion trends.
Big, bold monochrome
The catwalks were bursting at the seams with statement black and white pieces from all the designers this year. From smart black skirt and white shirt combos to more daring hounds tooth or retro zig zag patterns, this season opens the door for lovers of the black and white palette in all spheres.
This season proves that stripes aren’t going anywhere. The key to getting this trend just right is really about bigger is better. Forget pinstripes and subtle narrow striped numbers. The stripes for summer 2013 are big, bold and bright. Rock the black and white stripy look with a summery striped playsuit, or go all nautical with navy blue or red and white stripes teamed with a cheeky peep toed sandal.
Forget the ripped tees and unwashed hair of the 90’s Nirvana inspired grunge scene. Grunge in 2013 is all about boyish looks that have been softened with girly prints. Team a floral or tribal print jumpsuit with a leather biker jacket to carry off this look perfectly.
A warm welcome back to the wonders of the overall. Whilst maybe not your most flattering outfit, this seasons catwalks proved that overalls are not just for kids anymore. Super comfortable and with endless design options, from big baggy jumpsuits to tailored dungaree playsuits, this could be your best beach bargain for 2013.
Certainly more flattering for most than the mini skirt, and more versatile than the maxi, the midi skirt is the length to be seen in this summer. Finishing just below the knee, this functional length of skirt is ideal for the office or for a night on the town – perfect for bringing a touch of elegance to your wardrobe in 2013.
Shimmer and shine
Fabrics offering a touch of shimmer and shine are all the rage this year. Enjoy the marvellous metallic available on the high street, but ditch those unflattering gold’s, silvers and bronzes. This seasons metallic craze is all about softer, pastel shades that are so much more wearable and don’t wash out your skin so much.
The fashion shows have been filled with wonderful pieces inspired by the culture of Japan. Totally flattering and endlessly elegant, these beautiful dresses and tops are perfect for day and evening wear. Think kimonos, luxury silk fabrics, intricate embroidery and big flared sleeves. Very flattering and totally wearable.
Peek a Boo
Do you dare to bare? The peek a boo trend is certainly one for the body confident, but can be great fun if played just right. Simple dresses and tops with cut away sections serve to show off your hard work at the gym without being too revealing. If you finally have the midriff you’ve always craved, then you’ll be glad to hear the popularity of crop tops has also been revived for 2013. Wear with baggy bottoms for maximum impact.
