Clothes Show in The Wardrobe………..
By Sarah Graham
With the main event kicking off in the venue’s basement, exposed brickwork and sombre red lighting provided an underground canvas for the evening’s events to unravel with the utmost synchronicity and professionalism.
Armed with Clarins’ goodie bags, champagne and sushi, the audience took in the headlining shows. Local fashion talents Becci Caine, Trout and Pout and Therapy showcased their unique and vibrant A/W collections. Caine’s feminine patterns juxtaposed against androgynous draping by Trout and Pout. Attention to detail transformed the catwalk aesthetics, with dramatic make-up by NARS, and avant-garde hair styling by Jam.
Following her success on the BBC programme, Mary Queen of Shops, Becci Caine described the night as, “a fantastic event that provides good exposure for new talent, whilst supporting a charity.”
Fashionistas parted with their cash to win top prizes in other fundraising events during the night, including a charity auction. All collections were available to purchase from stalls, however the limited lighting required night-vision goggles in order to see the garments.
Fran Shilton, the events organiser, confirmed the evening’s achievements on behalf of all involved. The evening raised over £3000 for the charity.
“St.Gemma’s Hospice is such a beneficial charity, and it’s an honour to be invited tonight. It’s a lot of fun for a great cause.”Anthony Lewis, Emmerdale.
