An Audience with Andy Rubin - CEO - Pentland Brands plc
On Tuesday evening Manchester Fashion Network played host to our Audience with Andy Rubin - CEO - Pentland Brands. The turn out was excellent, as when it comes to industry experts you can’t get much better then Andy Rubin. The event drew in a wide variety of industry professionals, and retail experts, from brands such as Henri Lloyd to JCB.
Manchester Fashion Networks very own Dale Hicks chaired the discussion, and kicked off with an introduction to the CEO’s background and history, in which he talked about how the family owned company started in the 1930’s with a single shoe shop, and how it developed into the multi million pound corporation it is today. Throughout the introduction Andy emphasised how he believed it was so important to do well in his education in order to succeed within the family business and within the industry.
The second part of the discussion focused upon the company as a whole, the industry it operates within and the current issues that surround it. A key point of discussion was the recession, which focused upon how Pentland Brand plc has managed to buck the doom and gloom, as-well as advice on how other brands can follow in Pentland’s footsteps with their recession success.
Andy also went on to express his opinions and concerns for the future of U.K’s economy and the industries that sit within, whilst explaining how Pentland Brands plc plan to overcome this obstacle.
The event was a fantastic success, with all guest throughly enjoying the evening, and leaving the Circle Club with a vast amount of sought after business and industry advice.
MFN would like to thank Andy Rubin for enabling us to conduct such a well received and anticipated event, also to all attendants and everyone who made the event possible. For all those who didn't get chance to attend, we hope to see you at future events.
