Maharishi Manchester! Maharishi is set to return to Manchester with a Maharishi pop-up shop
To all those who visited our recent Maharishi warehouse sale, and to those who were unlucky in not being able to make the four day sale, we have some fantastic news for you. Due to the vast success of the festive Maharishi sample sale, MFN are once again teaming up with the London based label to open a Maharishi pop up shop.
For those of you that aren’t familiar with the brand here’s everything you need to know:
Maharishi are a London based brand largely recognised for their military inspired prints, but unlike many military inspired labels Maharishi carry with them a firm anti-military ethos. Acquiring rejected fabrics from British military suppliers in their infancy; Maharishi clothing use their trademark camouflage print as a canvas for anti war statements of peace and freedom.
The Maharishi clothing label was established in 1994 by Hardy Blechman. His own experience in the international military and industrial clothing trade, allowed Blechman to evolve his staunch ethos of ‘respecting nature while utilising technology’. Sticking to this philosophy he adapted recycled work wear and military surplus into original design concepts, like that of the Snopants, one of the brands signature pieces.
Attracted to the environmental benefit of recycling, Maharishi have remained loyal to their roots by consistently adapting exclusive designs from natural fibres and recycled fabrics, producing garments such as combats, snopants, coats, military jackets and denim from the fabrics.
Maharishi pioneered the use of embroidered and appliquéd camouflage patterns into its designs, part of the company's mission to draw attention to the artistic beauty of camouflage. Due to the dynamic use of the acquired materials, snopants have rapidly become the brands signature garments.
To date Maharishi have established themselves as one of UK's most influential design labels, appealing to both the North and South divide. Despite its continuous success, the label continues to develop and expand, whilst maintaining its inimitable charisma and strong brand values.
