What is Manchester notoriously famous for? Two things, Its Fashion and its Music, OK well three things including football (but no one cares about that!)

Last night seen Manchester’s newest Indie hot spot  FAC 251 host Manchester yearly fashion show MULTIPLE STRIPES, featuring a true fashion mix from high street toppers Urban Outfitters, to up and coming student’s with talent.

The show was in aid of Multiple Sclerosis and was a huge success!

Fac251 is Manchester’s newest hotspot, a true recognition of everything Manchester ‘’ It’s all about the music,” was the perfect location, three floors of every genre of music for every man, drinks at cheap prices and glamour girls on swings.....I’m not sure why!

The fashion show featured brands from the likes of international retailer GAP to up and coming ‘’three to one” by Jennifer Moore.

Urban Outfitters opened the show, In true Urban’s style the show screamed college kid in America, a preppy American in a straw hat, Festival chic meets American geek, get it?

Denim was a huge focus in the show, featured in ....well just about everything from jumpsuits to hot pants, which are getting shorter this season girls (just a pre warning.)

The second half of the collection reminded me of a picnic in the summer, florals , sandals, straw hats, short dresses and light weight floral shirts...oh so pretty.

Menswear was preppy through and through, geeky Harvard college pupil, trousers with roll ups, cardigans, bow ties, and  geeky glasses.

Next up was ‘’THREE TO ONE” by Jennifer Moore

Jennifer’s dresses were white, ruffled reminded me of an angel type symbol, virginal, innocent, any girl could wear this dress and look instantly like butter wouldn’t melt in their mouth, and well every girlcould do with that type of dress!

The main focus of the collection was ‘’ underwear as outerwear’’ a major trend for this season, Jennifer’s designs were bang on trend, 10/10 for individuality, although the garments had a bit of a poor finish to them, this a brand has potential to expand, one to watch out for in the future.

Then on to the GENERAL STORE, I may seem bias as it is one of my favourite brands, General store presented its recognised edgy, quirky theme, with rocky style tees. Menswear had a main theme of twisted jeans, shorts and tee’s festival style combinations, my personal favourite piece was a t shirt, tie combination, the uniqueness of this brand gets it right all the time.

Gap was well... typical Gap, the brand is recognisable a mile away, its basic, simple, American classic with simple denim and nautical themed t shirts, Personally I was unimpressed by the womenswear collection however the menswear created a bit more excitement the collection was Urban Outfitters meets the American student the whole collection was simple yet charming, very preppy, very Chuck Bass (gossip girl) blues, pales and beiges, a suitable transaction in to Spring/Summer.

This was my favourite part of the show it actually made me sit up in my seat, the whole collection was fashion forward, unique pieces full of drama and imagination, the attention to detail was superb and each piece was impeccably crafted and had its own person touch, there was cleverly crafted harem style jumpsuits, easily day time to evening wear. My favourite piece of the whole show was a above the knee black LBD (little black dress ) however this little black dress was far from basic, both shoulders had spikes individually attached, this garment shown skill, creativity and true individualism. The piece definitely had a McQueen focus, a similar style and finish, the garment was McQueen meets Lady Gaga, crazy yet fabulous.

The exciting thing about this fashion show was the diversity of the brands coming together under one roof. Cocu Manchester’s Bridal and Prom wear store featured structured corsets with matching skirts made from quality silks, each piece was beautifully structured, dresses in creams, deep pinks and purples expensive looking garments, boys in suits, tuxes and bow ties, formal dress wear reminded me of a Stretford couple beautiful looking, in beautiful garments.

Finally SWISHSWOSH.COM a college skater came to mind when I seen this brand, a main focus was on the graphic tee, I feel a unique choice for the fashion forward cool college kid.

Multiple Stripes fashion show is a charity fashion show that raises money and increases awareness for the Multiple Scleroses Society. The event was very well crafted from start to finish, the atmosphere, location, show and after party was fantastic.

Big well done to everyone who took part, It was  a great evening, the event was a true replica of Manchester it music and most importantly its fashion.
