The words “Henri Lloyd” are widely known as a household name around the UK and other parts of the world but only a small percent of those people really know the colourful history behind the British sailing brand.

It all started in the 1960s, when ex-Polish solider Henri Strzelecki moved to Manchester in search of a new life. He settled there after moving to the North of England after returning from fighting in World War 2. With a background in textiles it wasn't too long before Strzelecki started working within the clothing and textiles industry. In 1963 Strzelecki founded the brand Henri Lloydicon Limited. The combination of his love of sailing and textiles proved to be a winning formula. Mixing passion with an innovated mind The Henri Lloyd brand moved leaps and bounds in quick succession.
