Crocs In Harvey Nichols..?

Zagliani handbags are known as a work of art in the fashion industry and The Manchester Fashion Network were lucky enough to meet the man behind the bag; Mauro Orietti – Carella.

No one likes to grow old, and with many of us feeling the need for Botox to plump our skins, these bags are no different. Before becoming the designer for Zagliani, Mauro started his studies in dermatology. It was his knowledge of science that rejuvenated the Zagliani brand into the celebrity favourite it is today with fans including Jennifer Lopez and Alex Curran.

Mauro injects the skins from pythons and crocodiles with silicone to add a super buttery feel distinguishing them from the scally croc bags already on the market and transforming them in to a handbag worthy of a £5000 price tag.

Although the bags are made from exotic skins, Mauro was keen to tell us all that his company only works in an ethical and environmentally responsible way. No reptiles are killed purely for the skin; Mauro buys his skins from certain regions such as Louisiana in America, Indonesia, Zimbabwe and Egypt, where the reptiles are killed for their tail meat and rather than wasting the remains, Zagliani offers the economy a way to generate revenue from this bi product.

These exclusive handbags take two years from start to finish and only 2000 are produced, so if you are lucky enough to afford one of these handbags then head down to Harvey Nichols Manchester where prices start from around £700.
