What: Gio-Goi Acid House Reunion Party
Where: Moho Live, Tib Street, Manchester
To celebrate their first stand-alone store in England which opened in the Manchester Arndale on Thursday 25th August, Gio-Goi went back to their roots and held a huge Acid House party at Moho Live. Entertaining ravers young and old were Mike Pickering, Jon Dasilva, Dave Haslam and Graeme Park.
Around the back of the Gio-Goi bus Chris Donnelly gave us a little insight into why here and why now. “It’s absolutely the wrong time to open an own brand store. That’s why it’s for us. Totally unorthodox. It had to be Manchester too, it’s where it all started and it’s our first ever store in England”.

We also caught up with Hacienda veteran, Mike Pickering. “Fashion has always been integral to music. It’s like a uniform. Back when we started off with illegal parties in 1988 it was all baggy clothes and slogan tees.”
What was more LOL though, 80s or the 90s?...
“The 80s were definitely more LOL. Everyone got serious in the 90s”
