Gio Goi Store Manchester

Gio Goi's Manchester store is the brand's first opening in England, continuing a bricks-and-mortar expansion which started in Scotland, where they have two stores, one in Aberdeen and one in Glasgow.  The Manchester store signifies something of a homecoming for the streetwear brand, as it was in the Hacienda and other iconic rave venues of the late 80's that gave birth to the label, whose founders, Anthony and Chris Donnelly, starting out by selling their gear to club kids: “You know what we like to wear, why not have a go” - Shaun Ryder, 1986

Their musical nativity is something that the brand have anchored their marketing strategy in and like the other Gio Goi stores, their Manchester arrival in August 2011 was celebrated by a semi-exclusive rave-revival gig. Former Hacienda heavyweights Mike Pickering, John Da Silva and Graham Park kept kids dancing into the early hours.

Gio Goi Jeans Manchester Store

The Gio Goi label bring a fashion-aware, but not obsessed, brand of urban sportswear to the high-street, with T-shirts, tailored jersey tops and engineered jeans making up the bread and butter of their offering.  The mainline mens collection offers brightly coloured logo tees, and tops emblazoned with slogans from the dancefloor.  Funnel necked jersey tops come adorned with asymmetric lines of buttons, and with long and short sleeves. Colour accented polo tops are straight from the football terraces, and the checked shirts take men straight to the club after.  Gio Goi jeans stand out for their coated denim, stitching detail and utility pockets.  For men, there are also a range of trainers.  For both men and women there are a range of acid bright plastic wristwatches.

The Trakstar collection offers a range of sporty shapes; hooded tees, gillets and zip-up track tops.  The Contraband collection has a slightly harder edge, with risqué pop-art style print tees and fine-knit hoodies for men and women, men's check shirts and women's skinny jeans and vest tops.  The women's Music range vests declare 'I love Ibiza', while the Basix range offers colour-pop tops, tees and hoodies.
