Jelly Shoes for Grown Up Girlies
By Ryan Cooper- Brown
Brazilian plastic footwear company ‘Melissa’ have pushed their ‘plastic dreams’ recycling vision even further by creating an oxford brogue shoe, made of course, from plastic. Designed in collaboration with fellow Brazilian Alexandre Herchcovitch, the ‘Joy’ brogue adds an element of androgyny to Melissa’s unconventionally girly range.
The shoe is available in a colour wheel of shades, from traditional black and white through to gold. All Melissa shoes are made from mono materials (which basically means they can be disassembled and recycled) and are injected thermoplastic, so they magically mould around your feet for a comfortable fit.
The ‘Joy’ shoe will be available at Ran in Manchester’s St Anne’s Arcade in September.
