Hard as (painted) nails
Nails..?
By Desiree Todd
A French manicure suggests super high maintenance, WAG and control freak, while nude is more about being well groomed and subtle. Clear will imply you are hard working and innocent but perhaps a little boring…..With black fingernails conjuringup images of Goths and a Chanel runway, springs hot trend was clearly Chanel’s Blue Satin (461)- an intoxicating deep-seanavy blue, an interesting alternative to plain black.
However, now that summer has finally, sort of arrived, along come the neon and Day-Glo offerings- colours hot enough to give Barbie a run for her money…My top picks are Butter London’s Dolly Bird – a Day- Glo pink sure to make you belle of the beach, and Henley Regatta – a fusion of green and blue, which varies in intensity depending on the light.
What’s more Butter London is a 3 Free company – their polishes are completely free from Formaldehyde, Toulene and DBP so you can admire you peachy nails safe in the knowledge they are nasty free and non-toxic. Think colour not carcinogens!Top tip- store your nail polish in the fridge. It will be much easier to apply, gliding on smoother in fewer coats and will dry much faster, as well as adding a touch of decadence to your eggs and butter shelf.
