Share |

We caught up with Jenni Murphy who manages PR for Lectra UK to discuss what they do and what they are looking for ahead of The Fashion Network's Student and Graduate Recruitment Day on the 11th May 2012.

TFN: Can you tell us a bit about Lectra?

Jenni: Lectra is a leading provider of fashion technology solutions— design, PLM, and CAD/CAM software and cutting systems. Lectra develops long-term relationships with its 23,000 customers in more than 100 countries. Its state-of-the-art technologies and the expertise of its 1,350 employees establish Lectra as a recognised standard. Lectra’s solutions, specific to each industry, enable customers to automate, streamline, and accelerate product design, development, and manufacturing. In the fashion industry, they make it possible to plan and manage the full lifecycle of each collection while developing brand heritage.

Our design solutions have been built upon experience gained over the life of Lectra.  Having developed our own solutions and having acquired other technologies (notably CDI for U4ia and Prima Design for Primavision) has given us insight, expertise and, most importantly, the benefit of having worked with many of the world’s leading brands, retailers and fashion companies.

Lectra takes innovation very seriously, having invested millions of Euros in fashion and textile design-related research and development.  Lectra’s design solution Kaledo is the result of these efforts, a best-practice approach for fashion and textile design.

Our design solutions are backed by our team with fashion and textile experience - textile designers (prints, weaves and knits), fashion and technical designers, colour specialists, patternmakers, buyers, retail consultants, service bureau managers and more to place technological solutions in a real-world context. Lectra is where fashion and technology merge.

TFN: What roles are Lectra recruiting for at the recruitment day?

Jenni: We are recruiting for a maternity cover (12-18 months) for Lectra’s fashion and textile design solution trainer and pre-sales consultant.

TFN: What are Lectra going to be looking for at the recruitment day?

Jenni: We are hoping to find the right candidate for this role, and get contact details for future openings we may have at Lectra.

TFN: And lastly, is there anything else you would like to add?

Jenni: The successful candidate would start in July / August and be based in one of Lectra’s UK offices either in Bradford or London.
