Victoria Beckham – Manchester’s Signature Scent
DVB hits MCR?
By Amy
There may not be many of you who get excited when they hear about Victoria Beckham, but I have had this event pencilled (or should I say engraved) into my diary since I first received the Harvey Nichols email. After seeing photos of her the night before, I was even more excited to meet her. Dressed in a black Giambattista Valli jumpsuit, she looked simply stunning as she dined with her entourage in Manchester’s top restaurant Ithaca.
Victoria Beckham personally chose Manchester’s Harvey Nichols as the place to launch the new Beckham perfume ‘Signature’. Despite the fact that critics said she didn’t like Manchester, Victoria was quoted as saying “please can I go to Manchester instead? I love Manchester, it's got a really good feel to it…I'm really excited about coming back because, of course, it's where I met David.”
Manchester was certainly proud to see Victoria return. Crowds were snaking all the way around the store and upon arrival she was greeted by screams, wolf whistles and applauding. Dressed like an angel, Victoria heavenly strutted down her personalized ‘purple DVB’ carpet wearing a Giambattista Valli white dress and dazzling silver Christian Louboutin shoes. After standing in a queue for two and a half hours it was finally my turn to purchase her perfume. Developed by perfumer Sylvie Fischer, the perfume is fruity with notes of anise flower, candy apple, orchid, heliotrope, vanilla, patchouli, amber and musk. At a cost of £25 for 50ml this ‘Signature’ was my ‘golden ticket’ to finally meet her and when it did it sent me straight to heaven.
‘Your shirt is fabulous’ she told me, and with that in mind I left Harvey Nichols with a smile as wide as a Cheshire Cat.Check out the gallery for photos and if you wish to purchase the David and Victoria Beckham ‘Signature’ perfume, head down to Harvey Nichols now, whilst stocks last.
