Whats on around town
Big Chill 08
The Big Chill is not just your average music festival, it offers a unique gathering of all the respective creative arts. From poetry recitals to art trails. The festival with over 35,000 visitors last year still manages to regain its intimacy and communal feel. Nurturing young upcoming artists such as 2008's hottest dubstepper – Benga , the incredible deck talents of A Skillz, and global dance rhythms from Yam Yam. Yet also integrating with, and providing similar coverage for well established names such as, Annie Nightingale, Martha Wainwright and Mr Scruff.
The festival provides a wide variety of diverse yet complimenting stages and headlining acts, for instance Friday night will see the Peverse Universe Victorian Freakshow take centre stage, Saturday, The Mighty Boosh, and on Sunday Club De Fromage presents Sports night.
A welcoming atmosphere for anyone of any age, the kids tent offers workshops such as carnival arts 3D sculptures, yet there is plenty for adults to divulge in also, why not enjoy a ‘Secret Swim’ at Eastnor? And new addition for 2008 The Big Warm –an incredible sculptural bonfire designed by internationally acclaimed pyrotechnic artists ‘The World Famous’. If you have been to a music festival before we promise you that The Big Chill is completely alternative and exceptional to anything you have ever experienced. See for yourself, tickets are available now!
