The Talk:

As the credit crunch bites it has never been more relevant to ask the question why bespoke?

This forum will take a quirkier view than normal in a fashion area sometimes assumed to be formal and old fashioned.

In an age of throw away fashion and false economy we look at the world of bespoke and ask the following questions...

• When you buy bespoke do you really get something unique?
• As we count our pennies more closely can we afford it?
• Do we really get what we pay for?
• Is the future bespoke?

The panel:

• Craig Johnson, manager of the esteemed Manchester shoe retailer Edwards.
• Adam Dooley- MD - Frank Rostron, the famous Manchester shirt maker.
• Jen Scott-Russell, Owner and Milliner - H’Atelier. Specialising in bespoke, couture headwear.
• Tim Nadin – Sales and Marketing Director – IWI Watches. Luxury bespoke watches made in the heart of Lancashire.
• Tee McAteer - Business Manager – Penhaligon’s. Dating back to the 1860’s, Penhaligon's is one of the few true perfume houses in the world: designing and making its own scents.

This evening will be chaired by the Manchester Confidential fashion, wine and food writer Philip Hamer.
