Designing garments as part or whole of product ranges working to product brief and target price points

Conduct design research, visit exhibitions, compile shop reports, internet/prediction information

Maintain awareness of fabric trends and sourcing interesting fabric ideas

Produce initial colour palettes and liase with Buying department regarding sending to fabric suppliers

Produce and present initial CAD illustration flatwork (drawings) to product selection team including suggested colourways

Produce initial design specification, liase with Quality Developers

Send design specifications to factories as required

Travel overseas to supplier factories to request amendments, check all trim branding details, check measurements to specification, check any query on lay plans, ask factory to proceed to second counter sample, liase with Design Technologist in the UK

Present final range to product selection team including counter samples, CAD illustrations and colourways, update range plan (also to include new colourways of existing product

Set up for exhibitions as required

Prepare for sales conferences as required

Working with junior designers to develop brand and graphic detail

Supporting Design Managers in the training of junior members of the team

Assisting Design Managers in timetable planning

In addition you will be required to carry out other duties as may be reasonably requested by your Manager
