It would give me great pleasure to inform you of my interest in the advertisement for the Garment Technologist position advertised on Fashion Network website. The advertisement was of particular interest to me given my enthusiasm and ambition to work directly with a clothing product from the design stage right through to the production stage and finally the consumer product.

As a successful graduate with a BA (Hons) degree in Clothing Design and Technology at Manchester Metropolitan, I have also accomplished a one year’s work experience at Brecrest (Children and baby wear supplier) as Design Assistant and Quality Control Assistant.

 An individual most passionate for working within the fashion industry and has almost 10 years experience within the retail industry, most confident of working with people of all levels and more importantly a hard working and industrious individual who has a quirky creative flair for fashion.

With this in mind and having studied the criteria of the Garment Technologist position, I understand that the position requires a competent individual with a background experience in product development, handling anthropometric data and specs, must be computer skilled in using specialised software such as CAD, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop as well as the basic Microsoft office packages and also liaising directly with clients and manufacturers on a daily basis. To refer to my Curriculum Vitae as attached it reflects all the relevant qualities and experience that the criteria requires for the Garment Technologist position.

Given the opportunity I feel I could become a great asset to the business and my existing skills and my desire to train and develop could effectively contribute to your team and organisation.
